I’m an award-winning and highly recommended business copywriter, financial copywriter and communications professional, based in London. My experience as both client and advisor helps me to understand your issues and how to address them.
I was head of investor relations for Serco Group plc for four years. Serco is one of the world’s leading service companies and a member of the FTSE 100. Management Today rated it the UK’s most-admired service company for five years running.
At Serco, I wrote all the company’s investor communications, from press releases to web copy to annual reports. In 2008 I was voted best investor relations officer in the IR Magazine UK awards and won the best corporate literature category for Serco’s annual report. The same report also won best strengths and resources coverage at the 2009 Strategic Value in Corporate Reporting awards. Serco also won or was nominated for several other awards during my time in charge of investor relations.
Prior to Serco, I spent nearly eight years at Makinson Cowell, the UK’s leading investor relations consultancy. There I helped major companies to develop their messages and to write and edit their communications. My clients included companies in engineering, financials, health, hotels, leisure, media, packaging, printing, property, pubs and restaurants, retail, support services, telecoms and utilities. They ranged in size from small cap stocks to the biggest FTSE 100 companies.
I have a BA in Economics from Manchester University and an MA with distinction in Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University. I am also a chartered accountant, a qualification I gained during five years with Deloitte.
