This paper considered how recent court rulings affect vendors’ responsibilities when outsourcing contracts go wrong. It looked at what happens when vendors represent themselves as experts and how both the vendor’s and purchaser’s behaviour can affect the way the courts interpret a contract.
Major international company – Radio technology in traffic management
I edited a white paper for a leading international company, which explained how radio technology could be used to create networks for traffic management. The paper set out the advantages over other technologies, such as fibre and WiFi, and gave examples of how a radio network could be deployed.
London Stock Exchange – Post-Trade Technology: Reactive or Progressive?

This white paper discussed how post-trade systems had developed on a piecemeal basis, in response to changes in the trading environment such as new regulations and the emergence of alternative asset classes. It then went on to outline the features a post-trade system should have, to enable it to respond quickly and easily to future changes. Download a copy.

This was a white paper aimed at US professionals who were thinking of trading in European capital markets. It looked at how changes in regulations, new technology and the growth of strategies such as high-frequency trading had affected cash equity markets, reporting and clearing of swaps, and transaction reporting. This paper analysed the requirement in the new UK Corporate Governance Code for companies to describe their business models in their annual reports. It explored the differences between strategy and the business model, and looked at current practice, including which companies were already doing well in this regard.
